Katelyn Dorwart is a criminal defense attorney for Dunham and Jones in Nashville. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh and went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where she earned awards for Pro Bono Leadership and Public Service. Throughout law school, she worked for the Nashville Public Defenders, the Innocence Project, and volunteered at her local children’s hospital advocating for education and disability rights. Supporting those who feel unheard has always been her passion and purpose – every client matters and deserves a fierce defense.
After law school, Katelyn joined the Nashville Public Defender’s Office as an Assistant Public Defender on the General Sessions Team. She successfully represented clients through all stages of the criminal process for DUIs, domestic violence charges, thefts, and other misdemeanors. Later in her career as a Public Defender, Katelyn joined the Criminal Court Team and transitioned to handling serious felony cases. She achieved client-centered results on homicides, sexual assault cases, as well as felony drug and gun cases. Police misconduct, DUIs, cellphone tracking, child sex crimes, and arson are just some areas of law where she has specialized training.
When she’s not fighting for you, Katelyn enjoys attending heavy metal concerts, continuing her quest to find the best coffee in Nashville, and practicing reformer Pilates at a local studio.
